The Veterinary Technician program at Eastern Florida State College is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel as vital members of a veterinary healthcare team. This comprehensive program likely covers a wide range of essential topics, from animal anatomy and physiology to pharmacology, surgical assisting, and diagnostic imaging. Students will gain hands-on experience in simulated and real-world veterinary settings, learning to perform clinical laboratory procedures, administer medications, assist in surgical procedures, and provide compassionate care to animals of all sizes. Externships and clinical rotations at local veterinary hospitals and clinics will provide invaluable real-world exposure. The program is likely designed to be completed in two years and upon graduation students will be prepared to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE).
