Vet Tech Schools
The Veterinary Technology program at Bristol Community College prepares students for a rewarding career as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT). This comprehensive program provides a strong foundation in animal health, covering topics such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and surgical assisting. Students gain hands-on experience in a veterinary technology lab, learning essential skills in animal handling, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and clinical laboratory procedures. A key component of the program is clinical externships, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world veterinary settings, such as clinics, animal shelters, or research facilities. The program is typically a two-year Associate Degree program designed to prepare graduates to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). Upon successful completion of the VTNE, graduates are eligible to become CVTs and pursue careers in veterinary practices, animal research, zoos, and other animal-related fields. The program also emphasizes client communication skills, enabling graduates to effectively educate and support pet owners.
